ALL ASHORE WHO'S GOING ASHORE

*Once the foundation was in place, close to the unnamed planet's orbit, the investigation team was moved to the Elsa so they could launch their ESes from a shorter distance. As they moved from the dock, MOMO took the role of briefing the situation over ES transmission.*

Our craft are currently in data collection mode. Since this planet was recently formed and is still uncharted, our job is to gather data for the UMN, Second Miltia, and the Kukai Foundation. All transmissions and video monitoring are direct linked to the Durandal's mainframe data transfer. So everything we do and see will be monitored for this trip.

Margulis... *He shook his head glancing over the reports while the Reuben shifted in anticipation of an attack.*

Perhaps you would care to enlighten me then.

*It was all Jin could do not to spit the words out. He hand't been this angry during their last meeting. Margulis seemed entirely more aggressive now...and dangerous. It wasn't just an issue of old rivalry that drew a sudden and intense anger out of the man, there were those he needed to protect.*

You really don't know what you're dealing with here? This planet.. She didn't spill it all to you? Hah.. Pathetic.

*AND there was that too. Jin's mind burned with rage briefly to have spoken aloud that fear he held at the very site of the enemy ES. He stood to lose her again...regardless of victory.*

.......She had no reason to.

*There were too many thoughts and that was dangerous. Jin closed his eyes for the briefest second bringing his attention completely to the potential fight instead.*

*he chuckled to himself, gripping his controls in anticipation.* So nothing's changed. You stand to destroy our creation, our paradise, without understanding a thing.

There's still time, Uzuki. Your comrades are weak now.. But you, you have that strength. With no home, and no more homeland to chase, we can rebuild our home here. Using our own hands, we can glimpse our ideals in the flesh. E Arkhe... Its what she wants too..

...Your paradise is built in blood and ignorance, Margulis.

I see.. You still see with clouded eyes..

No matter. I will reduce that strength to nothing, UZUKI!

*Levi was in fron of Jin again, ramming its blade straight for the center of the green craft*

*He gave no verbal answer to the man letting his blade speak instead. Swing out easily he caught the Levi's blade against one of his own forcing it back and stabbing forward with his free weapon.*

*The ES turned to the side to avoid the second blade, and kicked Reuben away to free itself. Levi suddenly shot upward then came down at Reuben, spiraling and ready to drill right through with its blade*

*The Reuben boosted back out of the way of the downward attack blocking the aftershock with both blades.*

*He was forced back, but not for long. He burst back at the other ES, leaving trails of flame behind his sword as he brought it down on Reuben repeatedly. YOU CAN'T BLOCK BLAZING JUDGEMENT I HOPE YOU HAVE 1/2 FIRE EQUIPPED D<*

*WHICH HE DID NOT. Jin took the damage jerking forward as alarms rang out to tell him what he already knew about the condition of his ES. The Reuben staggered back again from the attack sparking and smoking from the damage. He grit his teeth only growing more determined by the threat of further destruction or worse.*

*Jr maneuvered Asher forward again* JIN! Get back to the Elsa, we'll take care of him!

*BUT Asher was bashed away once again, and Margulis came right for Jin, weapon high* Your strength will be mine.. ~~TASTE MY BLADE ;D~~ THIS WILL BE YOUR END UZUKI!

*Jin dismissed the order with a growl throwing his weight into the controls. Recklessly he flew forward in what first seemed a thoughtless sort of attack. Diving in blades out to either side he turned quickly slashing once at the enemy gear and swinging again with the momentum to follow in a complete turn and strike with the second blade. The damage didn't harm the attacks natural flow but the Reuben stuttered barely making an escape afterward to dodge Margulis' poised weapon.*

*Levi jerked back from the force of Jin's attacks, and came to a hault, suddenly deploying it's armor*

UZUKI! *Levi began to advance once again, but suddenly came to a stop as it began to emanate a purple light. Margulis looked around in confusion before suddenly gripping at his head and letting out a pained cry.

He began to search himself as the vessel of anima continued to resonate with him.*

No.. Foolish.. IT'S GONE. *HIS BALANCING DRUG where could it be?! Levi began to dip an jerk as if it had lost control*

*Anger VERY RELUCTANTLY...and slowly melted to ALMOST concern as Jin held a defensive posture making no advancement to the obviously distressed craft and pilot. He narrowed his eyes waiting to see what happened next and jerked back toward the other two crafts.*

*The pain was almost blinding, he had to struggle just to stay conscious. His voice had changed the next time it was heard over the system. It was panicked and urgent.*

Jin.. You must..

*He broke off for a moment.. He had to suppress this pain, the memories he didn't want. He wavered for a moment before his arrogant tone managed to break through again, though he sounded.. completely crazed.*

You've discarded your chance for acceptance again. You.. You will never know understanding again. You can't.. even posses something that I've thrown away by my own hand... You will be alone. Let that.. burn into your mind Uzuki. I want.. I want the full extent of your rage.. on our next meeting..

*It was a shaky retreat, but after a moment or two, Levi sped from sight, still glowing*

*Even though she hadn't wanted to, Shion had stayed back. She thought she had a good idea of how Jin felt, and didn't want to get in the way of his fight, unless it was necessary. But now, she finally came forward.* Jin... I don't understand.. What just happened?

*The Reuben sagged suddenly feeling the extent of the damage. The entire encounter left it's pilot silent and struck. What had that struggle been? What was...WHY would Margulis try to warn him...and of what? He'd sounded much like his old self but strange and frenzied even.*

*Jin rubbed at his head in frustration and fatigue peeking an eye open to answer the hails that were no doubt coming in from his comrades.*

That bastard! Jin.. Jin! Are you ok, Jin?!

*He stared for a moment shaking his head.* ...I...am not entirely sure myself...

Yes...I am fine. My apologies for using such tactics.

*He sighed* No.. Come on, we'll postpone the trip while you get repairs. There's something I wanna check into now anyway..

*Jin stared at the planet sitting just before them and shook his head maneuvering the Reuben to follow behind the group.*

*Asher led the way back to the Elsa, and once inside, Jr. instructed Mathews to have Reuben fixed to Jin's specifications. Then he departed to the library he had constructed himself on the Durandal, taking MOMO and most likely Ziggy, by association, along with him*
